2013 has been a year of changes for both Veronica and I. The most significant change for us both has obviously been our choice (inspired by our rescue hens) to become vegans and a choice that we certainly do not regret. In fact with the more time that passes the more sure we both are that we made a brilliant decision for ourselves, the planet and animals.
What has been most surprising to us both is the affect it’s had on those around us. When I first began telling friends and family about my decision back in March I was met with a whole lot of negativity and scepticism (as well as small amounts of positivity). But over time this has changed, our boyfriends and family, particularly, have come round to the idea and they themselves have adopted a more vegan diet.
I’ve been filled with a renewed sense of optimism. If you live by the lifestyle choices that you believe in, others around you will take notice and may begin to make changes to their lifestyle. Together as each person creates a knock on effect, changing attitudes to those around them, we have the potential to make a big difference.
We are planning to touch more on the changes we are trying to make in our own lives throughout 2014. We hope that as we try to make more and more choices to help protect the environment, you guys will be be inspired to make changes to your lifestyle too. : )
We’ve only been posting here at Wrapped in Newspaper for a few short months but we have enjoyed it immensely, particularly hearing from you guys and finding so many like minded people in the blogging world.
